On November 4, a flock of white-naped cranes, a first-class national protected bird, fluttered on Liangzi Lake. In recent years, as the ecological environment of the Liangzi Lake Wetland Nature Reserve continues to improve, the diversity and population sizes of wintering waterfowl species increased significantly, from more than 5,000 birds of 35 species last year to more than 16,000 birds of 52 species this year. For the first time, the white-naped crane, a world's endangered species and first-class national protected bird, and second-class national protected birds of large populations, such as the white-fronted goose and white spoonbill, were detected.
