Hubei received 33.45 million visits during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday in 2023 (Jan. 21-27), with tourism revenue reaching 17.73 billion yuan, a 45-percent increase from last year, statistics showed on Jan. 27.
During the holiday, A-level tourist attractions in the province received about 8.83 million visits, up 41 percent from last year.
A flux of tourists chose museums and other cultural venues to spend time. The Hubei Provincial Museum welcomed 83,000 visits on Jan. 22-27.
The 17 ski resorts in the province, especially those in Shennongjia, Enshi and Yichang, have become sought-after destinations for visitors from both inside and outside the province. The hot spring tours in Xianning, Huanggang, Yichang and Yidu were also visited by a constant stream of tourists.
The average rental rate of star hotels in the province reached 54.81 percent during the holiday, an expansion of 14.76 percent from last year.
More than 400 measures have been rolled out across the province to benefit tourists during the Chinese New Year holiday, including free tickets or discounted tickets offered by nearly 200 A-level tourist attractions, and coupons worth over 7 million yuan issued by 11 cities and prefectures in the province.
