The German business service center in Wuhan was unveiled on December 1, at the Wuhan-Germany Conference on Investment Exchange and Promotion of Sino-German Wuhan International Industrial Park.
In addition to its main event held in Wuhan, the conference has also set parallel sessions in Shanghai and Frankfurt, Germany, which were held simultaneously via video links.
Wuhan has a long history of exchanges with Germany. It established sister-city relationship with Duisburg in 1982 and friendly exchange relationship with Bremen in 2009.
Statistics show that as of September 2022, 106 German companies have invested in Wuhan, involving such fields as automobiles and parts, equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, professional services and modern trade.
In January-August period of this year, the imports and exports between Wuhan and Germany reached 6.76 billion yuan, accounting for 21.2 percent of the total imports and exports between Hubei and European countries. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
