On 5th August 2022, World Health Expo kicked off at Wuhan International Expo Center. Chen Ping, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, visited the Ezhou Pavilion.
The World Health Expo was held from 5th to 7th August, centred around the theme - “Build a Community of Health for All, Technology Brightens the Future”. New products, technologies and achievements of the “big health” industry were showcased at the Expo. The Ezhou Pavilion includes three exhibition halls, including the Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine exhibitions, Hubei’s well-known pharmaceutical enterprises’ exhibitions, and large digital PET scanner exhibitions. Exhibits such as biomedicine, high-end medical equipment, and TCM appropriate technology experiences were all on display, showcasing the city’s achievements in the “big health” industry.
When they arrived at Ezhou Pavilion, Chen Ping and the group saw the large digital PET scanners, and asked the exhibitors about their product development, manufacturing and operation status. Chen Ping and the group also talked with representatives of pharmaceutical companies. Chen Ping pointed out that the “big health” industry contains enormous business opportunities; thus, it is essential to seize this development window. The city welcomes pharmaceutical companies to invest and grow here so that we can promote the high-quality development of the city’s medical and health industry by fully utilizing its strength in technology and investments.
Chen Ping also mentioned that this Expo and the health industry should mutually benefit each other. Together the two should build and optimize the “big health” industry chain to form a favourable environment for industry growth. It is crucial to make more efforts in the high-end medical imaging high-tech industry. We should use scientific and technological achievements to enhance core competencies. By bridging the academic institutions in Wuhan with companies in Ezhou, we can turn our strength in education into economic growth. We should further identify development paths, accelerate the development of biomedicine, high-end medical equipment, traditional Chinese medicine and healthcare integration, and increase the investment in the “big health” industry by launching more projects. Besides, it’s also important to actively explore domestic and foreign markets, continue to optimize the business environment, and facilitate the positive growth of the “big health” industry to meet the growing and diversified health needs of the people.
Deputy Mayor Peng Bo accompanied Chen Ping during the visit.
