The Ezhou Huahu Airport Expressway, as the first smart expressway in Hubei Province, completed closure on March 31.
The 13.2-km-long expressway, with an estimated investment of 2.426 billion yuan, starts from Ezhou Huahu Airport and ends at the north of Tingzu Town, connecting with Wuhan-Huangshi Expressway as a traffic hub.
The line adopts two-way six-lane standard, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Upon completion, it will cut travel time between Optics Valley in Wuhan and Ezhou Huahu Airport to about one hour.
The expressway is expected to open to traffic in May.（en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
