Ezhou enjoys obvious advantages of the air-rail-water-highway multimodal transport, which fully connects the city to the major traffic artery in Wuhan. "Wuhan Tianhe Airport + Ezhou Huahu Airport" is positioned as the dual hubs in Hubei for the air transportation of passenger and cargo; Sanjianggang District is set as the core port district of Wuhan New Port; and the Gedian section of Wuhan Metro Line 11 has now been officially in operation. In addition, key projects such as the E-Xian Highway (opening soon), the Wuyang Highway and the Airport Highway (both under construction), and the cross-city transportation channel of the inner lake of Liangzi Lake (in planning) will further improve the traffic connection of Wuhan-Ezhou-Huanggang-Huangzhou city cluster. At the same time, Ezhou has intensified its efforts in the planning and construction of nine paths to connect Wuhan Optical Valley, so as to accelerate the construction of rail transport that links up the metropolitan area. It also aims to deepen the cooperation with the urban agglomeration in eastern Hubei by relying on the Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone in Wuhan Metropolitan Area, the Optical Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, and the construction of Wuhan New Port. The city is stepping to the cluster development mode, and will emphasize on the coordinated organization and complementary development of industries, highlight its strength in airport transportation, explore the opportunities in supporting related sectors in Wuhan, and partner with industrial parks to complete the entire industry chain.
